Social Communication

What is Salesian Communication?
Formation      Information Production    Organisation   Salesians in touch   Liturgy Language issues  Planning

The world of communication:

  • a process, activity

  • an information medium (mass communication)

  • the message or messages

  • an event ("I said....")

  • a connection, contact.

  • the degree of mutual comprehension between persons

  • a discipline or field of study

Like all other human beings, we communicate with one another - our communication is, by nature, social.  Some do it well, others not so well

Certain institutions within society, within the church, have particular roles relating to communication.  The Salesian Society, for example, is by nature a communicating instrument in the mission of The Kingdom: '...signs and bearers of God's love for the young...'.

This website takes the reader/viewer through aspects of personal and institutional communication that are important for Salesians and for those who wish to communicate as did Don Bosco, a true 'Master' of social communication.

You will soon see that this site is practical - supported by a theory which you can read up on elsewhere.  Its purpose is to help our communities and our people communicate better at all levels of the Salesian mission.
