LANGUAGE IS JUST A MATTER OF GRAMMAR.....? |
||
|
"Languages
differ by degrees; it’s just that at some point, the degree tips the scale,
so to speak, and we believe we have a distinct new language."
"Nouns have to be more than just naming words – they have to perform a functionin a conversation. Adjectives too, have to be more than just describing words. For instance, words will be more a case of ‘noun’ if they are taken up again and explained further in the conversation. " |
The
following 'pages' (click on the links below) consider language from a fresh
perspective - one you would be less accustomed to finding in your normal
language grammar. Most pages provide a good five minutes or so of reading - you could cut and paste them to a document file if you wanted...because they have a habit of 'getting you in' and you may wish to sit and think about what is being said! Happy reading on topics such as the 'more-or-less' principle, nouns and verbs, language standards.
